The diamond planet,55 cancri e.
The 55 cancri e ,is a super earth-about twice the size of our earth.The main component of this planet besides carbon and silicates is diamond.Literally it is a large sized diamond floating in space.Its earth value is about $26.9 nonillion.Mining only 0.5% will pay of the total debt by all goverments.But for mining,we have to travel just 40 light years.
Discovery and early observations.
This planet was discovered in 2004 while observing the spectrum of its parent star 55 cancri A.
At first the astronomers thought the planet have orbital period of 2.8 days but later discoveries showed that planet is much closer to the star.The surface temperature is about 2700 C.
